A Princess Indeed

This morning as we were getting ready to go to preschool, I asked Abbey, "Who loves you?" She promptly replied, "Jesus love me." Smart girl, very true, and better than I was looking for, but I pressed on, "Who else loves you?" She continued, "Mommy, Daddy, Anna, Daniel..." I said, "That's right!" She then said, "ME A PINCESS!" Indeed you are my precious little one, indeed you are!

LOG IN DATE!!!

Alison e mailed me to tell me that we have a log in date of April 15, 2009. That is great. Our paperwork was submitted on Friday, April 10. So, next we pursue Preliminary Approval.

With the warm weather, Abbey has discovered how wonderful it is to be outside. The minute she comes downstairs in the morning, she wants to go outside. I've been letting her stay in the fenced in part of the backyard by herself. She rides her trike, plays with the dogs and rides her car. Just as happy as she can be.
Tonight, as we were sharing bedtime prayers. Abbey out of the blue said, "God bring Eli my home soon!" My sentiments exactly!

Happy Easter!!

Before she chowed down! (See the empty shell on the right? Layla got that one)
Eating the finished product

Dyeing Eggs

Picture sequence is backwards from what I wanted it to be. Told you I was a novice!
Today, we celebrated Easter. It was a lovely day, the only bummer was that Beth and John, Jr couldn't join us. They both had come home last weekend to visit my Dad, who was recovering from a heart attack. We went to church then out to eat at Sweet Tomatoes. Then, all five of us took a nap. We did the usual Easter traditions, the egg hunt and dyeing eggs. It was a relaxing day. As I pause to reflect, I'm filled with gratefulness to my Lord for suffering for me. John and I have tried to emphasize to our children the importance of Easter and how Easter validates our faith. We also both thought about Eli. We pray he will be with us next Easter. We also prayed today that God would keep him safe, healthy and bring him home to us soon!!

Trip to Winterpast Farm

With her special walking stick. She wanted to bring it home!
Petting the llama

Petting Nelson, the horse.

With the young chickens

Just happy to be outdoors

With the baby chicks
Friday, John, Abbey and I joined our OAKS (Our Asian Kids) group for a playdate at Winterpast farm in Wake Forest. The weather was gorgeous. Abbey was fascinated by some baby chicks. She would reach right in a pick them up. While there, we also saw a horse, emus, sheep, ducks, a lama and chickens.

Doing the "Tahheahs" Dance

UNC Tarheels won the 2009 Men's Basketball National Championship Monday night. As UNC alum, we have been at the other wins, but couldn't go this year. The game didn't start until 9:20, and John had to be in Charlotte by 8 am. So, we promised the kids we would go to the welcome home celebration. Of course, John couldn't go because of work. So, Daniel, Anna, Abbey and I went. It was a lot of fun. Abbey talked and talked about seeing the "Tahheahs", but couldn't stay awake. After waiting for over an hour, she fell fast asleep and slept during the whole program!

My very first blog

This is my very first attempt at a blog. I'm absolutely horrible at scrapbooking. I can never find the materials when I five minutes of free time.(If I get five minutes of free time a day!) Sooo, this is intended to be a virtual scrapbook for my family. We are a family of 7, soon, if God allows, to be 8. We are waiting for a little boy in China. Our dossier was sent to China on April 3rd. Our guide in China is taking it to the CCAA tomorrow!
