Fun with the grand daughters, June

John and I love to spend time with our grand daughters! This summer we had some wonderful chances to make special memories with them.

Evie came to stay with us for a little over a week while her parents went on a cruise to Croatia.

We had a full agenda for her time with us and loved every minute. She is such a smart and obedient
girl. She fit right in with our chaotic lifestyle, and I think she sort of enjoyed a "walk on the wild side"

She made homemade "rolls" aka cinnamon rolls. (These pictures were from separate days, but this was the dress of the moment, which she chose to wear every day. I wash every day, so it was clean)

  Went to the park
One of my favorite pictures, boy do I love this young'n

We went to "Mimi's Beach House".  Of course a trip to the beach isn't complete with out ice cream!

Some of us like to wear their ice cream!

She discovered the joys of legos. She could be heard saying, "Wait a minute, Daddy, while I go and change my head!"
 Her lego house

She let me fix her hair extra special and we went to see one of Abbey's friends perform the play, "Peter Pan"

 We did lots of swimming.

She mastered her mermaid fin.

Abbey had a swim meet and she handled it like a trooper!

We also went to a neighborhood "goodbye" dinner for some friends that were moving away. Evie jumped right in and played with the kids.

She is such a joy! I love how she just jumps in and assimilates into our life.

We also got to have Layne, Waverly and Lyra come and visit. We got some time with them on their home turf also.

We took them swimming.

Abbey is so good with all of her nieces. They love her so much!

Waverly, as in life, in the pool was a wild woman. She would just jump right in, caring not a fig whether someone was going to catch her or not. We had to watch her like a hawk.

Layne perfected her swimming.

When we got home, we made beach scene Jello.

Abbey is Layne's hero.

Then they played with fondant.

We were also able to spend some time at their pool. It was fun to be with them and their parents. We got to see Layne swim the whole pool!

I'm so very thankful that my grandkids live close enough for me to be a part of their lives. The surely do make mine brighter! They are all so uniquely special, beautiful, inside and out!
