November 1-3, 2019- Hannah Aron's Bat Mitzvah

Over a year ago, our great friends, Michele and Larry Arons asked all of our China Sisters Group to mark their calendars for their daughter Hannah's Bat Mitzvah. We had missed the reunion the past summer because of travel to Vietnam, so we eagerly planned to travel all the way to Pennsylvania(Pittsburgh), to honor Hannah and reconnect with Abbey's China sisters and their families. It was a wonderful weekend. We had a neat peak into the Jewish heritage, which as Christians, is also our heritage. I could see Christ all over the ceremony. It was a huge production, lots of food and great company. It resembled our weddings, no expenses spared.

We started with a huge Italian dinner.

Then on to the Shabbat service with dessert afterward.

The kids were brought up at the end.

The next morning we went to the Bat Mitzvah service. Hannah read the Torah. She chose a passage from the story of Noah.

After a big lunch at the Synagogue, we toured downtown Pittsburgh

That night, there was a huge dinner and dance at the hotel.

All in all a really fun, educational weekend!
