After going to Mom and Dad's for Thanksgiving, my big boys and I took on Black Friday shopping. So much fun!!!
We went to the beach the Friday after Thanksgiving. It was pleasant, not too cold. We enjoyed walking on the beach during the day.
Daniel came with us, which was a treat for all of us!
He taught Abbey how to play poker. (they played for peanuts)
Abbey and I went to the Ocean Isle Christmas parade.

The next weekend we had plans for Waverly and Layne to spend the weekend with us, then Evie would join us on Sunday and Monday we would go to a theater show, "The Night Before Christmas". Lyra would stay part of Friday night, while Anna and Jamie were at a Christmas party. As it happened, Waverly threw up and had to go home, which made me so sad for her!
Lyra was not happy about her mom being gone and cried for about an hour. A bath brought her around and she did well the rest of the time.
We had a full weekend....
We got our Christmas tree. Layne loved playing on the merry go round at the tree place. She jumped right in and helped decorate the tree.
She loved seeing the ornaments with her Mom's pictures on them.
We went to see the movie, "The Star"
Then Evie came. Layne and Evie love each other so very much! They get along wonderfully.
They sat and watched the play just as if they were much older.
The next weekend I went to see Evie's Christmas Program and preschool. She did a lovely job.

They each got a time in the spotlight...
Then congratulatory hugs and cookies for all!!
John and I had a chance to get all spiffied up and attend a "Gala for Justice" at Imago Dei church.
Abbey and Elijah decorated a gingerbread house.
Plenty to keep us busy as we prepared for Christmas!
Anna and Jamie hosted all of the D***** crew for John's family's Christmas.
We went to Mom and Dad's house for Christmas on the 23rd. Beth, Greg and Evie stopped by on their way to his family in Frederick.
My dad made a UNC Tree with all the UNC ornaments my mom has collected through the years.
When we got back home, Abbey, John and Daniel went to see the new Star Wars movie. This was the boy's gift to Abbey.
Elijah and I went to see some lights.
