Hurricane Florence- Sept.

Hurricane Florence threatened our coast as a one upon a time category 5 storm. Thankfully it downgraded and was much less severe when it finally made land fall. It moved extremely slowly and dumped tons of water. The entire eastern portion of our state suffered major flooding. We had gone to our beach house before the storm and packed all our outdoor things in the house. We suffered minimal damage... thank you, Lord!

The flooding affected our travel to the beach. We had to travel a totally different way, a 3 hour trip stretched into a 5 hour one. It was eye opening and sobering to see the flooding. So many places we passed had all their belongings out on their yard and their house open wide to air out the dampness of receding floodwaters.

Our damage was cosmetic. There was a lot of debris littering our yard. But, we were so blessed!

The night we were there, there was a gorgeous full moon!
