Visting Asheville-Sept 28-30, 2018

We traveled to Asheville this September to spend a week with our favorite Assistant swim coach and his girl friend, Sara.

Sara fixed us a wonderful dinner. We had homemade meatballs, stuffed mushrooms and  a wonderful salad. We enjoyed the view from Daniel's house.

After dinner, we went to downtown Asheville. We went and saw the performance of the drum circle. It was so interesting and the people watching was fantastic!

The next morning, we went to see Daniel's team swim in a exhibition meet.

Abbey saw pictures of her future.

Daniel had recruits that he had to take to the airport, so Sara, sweetheart that she is, chose to stay with us. We went out for pizza and had a great time visiting with her. When Daniel got done, she passed us on to him. She had a wedding to make, which she barely did. So sweet of her to stay with us, when she needed to get on the road!

We headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway and up to the mountains. We found some waterfalls.

Two crazies! That water was boo-chilly. Elijah wanted to get it, but we wouldn't let him because of the coldness.

It began to rain, so we headed back to the car right before the bottom dropped out. We headed downtown and went to a dog-friendly hamburger place.

The next morning, we met Daniel and Sara at their church. It was so wonderful to be able to worship with them.

One more tourist stop....apple picking!

I had never been apple picking. I found out what the fuss is about...they were delicious! I'd never had such a tasty apple.

Whew! We did a lot in that short weekend. It was wonderful and we had such a fantastic time! Daniel and Sara were great tour guides and we appreciate them giving their time to entertain us. Asheville is an interesting, beautiful place!!
