This past Monday was a double holiday. While everyone was celebrating Labor Day, we celebrated Abbey's fourth birthday!

As soon as she woke up, she donned her birthday crown and princess dress

and ate pancakes with whip cream

then went to her summer home away from home
(she did take the crown off to swim)

At the pool, they announced her birthday over the loud speaker, and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

At our house, the birthday boy or girl gets to decide where we will eat dinner. Abbey chose...

McDonalds!
Nana, Grandaddy, Abbey, Anna, Jamie, Elijah, Daddy and Daniel

A trip to McDonalds isn't complete without a few minutes in the play place

What a great big sister! She even braves little bitty tubes, so her brother can slide!

Then, on to the presents!

Look on the left at Elijah
He tried many times to help open the presents.

When his efforts were thwarted, he pitched a little hissy fit
complete with laying on the floor, and leg flailing.
All that work, and it didn't do a bit of good.

At least he got to enjoy the cake and ice cream

After Abbey blew out the candles
Nana made the Ariel cake

Happy Birthday to my special little girl. I love you more than words can say!
