Bright and early on Sept. 10, John, Jr dropped us off at the airport. We left at 8 and arrived in Chicago at 10:30. We then had a layover before we took off for China. We had wonderful seats on the way to China.
Abbey did very well.
She fell asleep after watching her DVD player for a while. She slept a good 12 hours.
Our guide Susan met us at the airport and took us to our hotel, The Beijing Renaissance. It was a very nice hotel. For dinner, Abbey, John and I ventured out on our own. Susan wrote down the Chinese for some dishes and drinks and off we went. We were the only non-Chinese in the whole place. Abbey had fallen sound asleep and there was no waking her.
She slept through until we were almost done. The food was very good. It was quite an adventure. The funny thing is the music in the restaurant. They played the same song over and over the entire night.
I'm posting this from my email. I can't get my blog in China.
