Backtracking-The Great Wall

Our last stop was The Great Wall of China. When we were here to get Abbey in 2007, I did not go all the way up the wall. John has never let me forget it. So, I was determined to make it up there this time. John used the Ergo carrier and carried Abbey on his back. Off we went. I would have to stop and rest along the way, so John trekked on ahead. As I got further up, I found John and Abbey sitting down. John was gasping for breath and said he couldn't go on any further because he thought he was going to pass out. We figured out that the Ergo strap was constricting his breathing, causing him to not get enough oxygen. Once we loosened the strap, we continued on. Abbey fell asleep half the way up (She was still on US time). When I got to the 3rd tower, I figured I had gone far enough, so I held Abbey and John went further on.

  1. What a beautiful day! I'm glad you had clear skies for your Abbey's trip to the Great Wall, even if she did sleep through most of it...
